Children’s Ministries Director
Christian Life Center (Port Orchard, Washington)

The Children’s Director leads all aspects of CLC’s ministry and outreach to Children and their families. The Children’s Director leads all Children’s ministry personnel (volunteers and paid staff), and reports to the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities include:

Focus:

  1. Supervision:  Oversee all aspects of the children’s ministries department.  This includes weekly CLT Team meetings. 
  2. Safety:  Provide a safe and clean environment for learning.  (i.e., weekly/monthly deep cleaning systems.)
  3. Security:  Enforce a uniform and reliable check-in/check-out plan, as well as additional security measures.
  4. Systems:  Develop policies and procedures that enhance ministry to kids and their families, as well as advancing the follow-up procedures and other systems.
  5. Staffing:  Recruit, train, coordinate, inspire and encourage a committed and loving staff with a focus on building teams and small groups.  Staff classes to meet minimum classroom teacher/student ratios:

Nursery:        1:2 ratios

Preschool:    1:4 ratios

Elementary:  1:6 ratios

Big Events:   1:10 ratios

  1. Special:  Make the Children’s Department a special place by providing quality learning, safe and sharp learning centers, inspiring décor, bright and cheerful atmosphere, regular communication with families, take home materials, etc.

Children’s Ministries:

  1. Kids’ Gatherings:  Quality care for all age groups each Sunday at 8:00am, 10:30am, 11:00am.
  2. Wednesday Nights:  Provide an inviting and effective ministry for kids’ Wednesday nights.  Lead the charge with both MPact and Royal Rangers.
  3. Special events:  Provide quality ministry to children at special services/events when needed (i.e., VBS, Harvest Carnival, Christmas, etc.)
  4. Paid child care:  Coordinate with staff to ensure all paid child care needs are met.
  5. Coordinate:  Quarterly volunteer coordination meetings to ensure healthy communication, team building, leadership training and visioneering.
  6. Attend:  Weekly staff meetings.
  7. Lead:  The charge of making the Children’s Department a co-op ran ministry where all families that utilize the ministry serve/volunteer in the ministry.  (at least one parent/guardian)

Qualifications include:

  1. A heart to gain experience in leading Children’s ministry in a church context.
  2. Proven track record working with parents and children, as well as leading volunteers.
  3. Collaborative, high-energy, congenial, servant leader.

This is a full-time, exempt position, with job responsibilities generally occurring Sunday-Thursday. Salary commensurate with experience, training, and background.
